Please carefully read the following terms and conditions under which HP grants you status as an HP Certified Professional. HP grants this certification to you only if you accept the terms of this agreement and you sign or agree to the HP Confidential Disclosure Agreement.

Attaining Membership

The HP Certified Professional Program is a worldwide certification program that is administered on a regional basis. You should apply for membership in the region in which you reside. The process to attain membership may vary among regions. Visit www.hp.com/go/certification and select your region for explicit application instructions.

To become a member of the HP Certified Professional Program, you must:
  • Pass the required HP exams, as published by Prometric, pertaining to the designation you are seeking.
  • Complete any other prerequisites for your credential. This may include passing exams or attaining a credential from a third party source.
  • If required by your region, provide a copy of any certificates/transcripts for the matching Operating System or required third party certification.
  • Within a few weeks of passing the appropriate exams and supplying any required third party information, you'll receive an email confirmation detailing your certification status and instructions on how to access your benefits and your certification profile.
  • Sign/agree to the electronic Confidential Disclosure Agreement/Nondisclosure Agreement.
  • Agree to be bound by the terms and conditions in this document. HP reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions as necessary, without notice. It is your responsibility to monitor the terms and conditions to ensure compliance.
The HP Certified Professional Program operates in three geographic regions covering the world: Americas, Asia Pacific/Japan (APJ), or Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA). Your membership in the program will be in the region of your residence. If you wish to transfer your existing HP Certified Professional status from one region to another, you must notify in writing the HP Certified Professional Program office in your region of your intent to transfer your membership status to another region. The two regional program offices will take care of the administrative needs to verify your status has been maintained and that you can be recognized by the new region for access to your profile and benefits.

Terms of Termination

Upon acceptance by you and HP, this agreement remains in effect until any one or more of the following occurs:
  • HP discontinues the HP Certified Professional Program.
  • Your credential is noted as "Expired" and you hold no other valid HP credentials
  • You choose to withdraw from the program and terminate your certification from HP by notifying (in writing) your regional program office of your intentions.
  • Your certification is revoked by HP for cause. Causes include, but may not be limited to:
    • Violating the terms of the Confidential Disclosure Agreement.
    • Intentionally misrepresenting your employer or employment status.
    • Intentionally misrepresenting your credentials or the falsification of credentials.
    • Harming the HP reputation or goodwill with customers or the public.
Conditions of the Agreement
  1. Upon registration as a candidate in the HP Certified Professional Program, you are assigned a unique and personal Student ID/Certification ID, which is used by you and HP for identification purposes.

Once accredited as an HP Certified Professional, your Student ID/Certification ID allows you to access certain HP Certified Professional Program benefits. At the sole discretion of the HP Certified Professional Program, fraudulent or improper use of your Student ID/Certification ID can result in the termination of your HP Certified Professional status.

  2. You must notify the HP Certified Professional Program office of any changes of employment, mailing address, or email address, or any change that may affect your HP Certified Professional status or HP communications to you. Notification may be accomplished by submitting a profile change via email or through your regional HP Certified Professional Web site or HP student portal. If the HP Certified Professional Program office discovers you no longer work for a partner listed in your profile, the HP Certified Professional Program reserves the right to delete the partner association from your profile.

  3. If you indicate an affiliation with an authorized HP Partner, information regarding your certification may be reported to the partner company.

  4. If you indicate that you are employed by HP, information regarding your certification may be reported to your HP manager.

  5. Once you have been accredited as an HP Certified Professional, you are responsible for maintaining your HP Certified Professional status by fulfilling any continuing learning requirements, if any, set forth by the HP Certified Professional Program. These requirements must be completed within the time specified by the HP Certified Professional Program.

Consult your region's HP Certified Professional website to determine the continuing learning requirements, if any, which apply to your credential(s). Requirements may vary by geographic region.

  6. HP manages the lifecycle of a credential through credential versions. You are responsible for knowing the status of a credential that you hold. The status of a credential can be found on the worldwide HP Certified Professional website.

Program benefits are provided to HP Certified Professionals who hold credentials that are "Active," "Transitional" or "Inactive." Any HP Certified Professional holding an "Expired" credential, and no other valid HP credentials, will no longer be considered part of the HP Certified Professional Program.

  7. The HP Certified Professional Program reserves the right to terminate or revoke HP Certified Professional status if the program office determines that you are employed by a competitor of HP - such as a computer company engaged in the business of developing and marketing hardware, software, solutions or services including enterprise computer solutions, fault-tolerant business-critical solutions, networking and communication products, commercial desktop and portable products and consumer PCs.

  8. Because the actions of individuals with HP Certified Professional status reflect upon the reputation and goodwill of HP, you agree to conduct your business in a way that does not adversely reflect upon HP. The HP Certified Professional Program reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or revoke HP Certified Professional status at any time, with no obligation, upon seven (7) calendar days written notice. HP is not liable for any claims or losses that result from the termination of your HP Certified Professional status.

  9. The HP Certified Professional Program may change the program qualifications and requirements in order to respond to changing business conditions. Changes to credentials will be posted on the HP Certified Professional Program website, and also may be communicated via email, newsletter, press release or other means of communication. It is your responsibility to learn about the changes that affect your credential(s). Any changes made to the program are not retroactive, and they apply as of the effective date HP specifies in the change notice.

  10. The HP Certified Professional Program reserves the right to investigate, at any time and without notice, your self-reported information, such as, but not limited to, employment status and current certification status with third party vendors, to ensure compliance with the HP Certified Professional Program Terms & Conditions.

  11. If for any reason your HP Certified Professional status is revoked, you may no longer claim to be an HP Certified Professional. To be re-instated as an HP Certified Professional, all certification requirements must be re-met, including acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  12. As an HP Certified Professional, the data you provide HP may be used for internal HP purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing of your status with an HP partner program or partner account manager where certification of candidates is required in order for the partner company to become recognized as an HP partner program member.

  13. As an HP Certified Professional in good standing, you are entitled to use various logos, trade and service marks, trade names, and titles (collectively called "trademarks") provided to you by HP. The HP Certified Professional Program reserves the right to terminate your use of these trademarks if, in its sole discretion, the program office finds you are in violation of these terms and conditions. HP is not liable for any costs incurred by the termination of the use of its trademarks.

  14. The rights granted to you under this agreement are not property rights, and as such, are not transferable to others.
